Amounts Fields

Omadi offers the ability to create default pricing that can be edited as needed. Tow companies often need this functionality because each customer is different, and extenuating circumstances can warrant adjustments to the actual prices that a customer is charged.

Setup

To set up an Amounts Field, hover the mouse over the field name and click either the "edit" or gear -> "Edit Field" to get to the setup page for the field.

In the setup page, under the "Options" menu item, there are a multitude of options to choose from to configure the pricing that appears in each situation:

Widget

  • How Price Items are selected by a user when entering pricing for a form entry

    • Drop-down select list
      • A pre-determined list of options for a user to select from
    • Autocomplete field
      • Allows the user to type in a value to find a matching item or create a new one
    • Autofill
      • No selection, the pricing fills in automatically based on criteria

Show details field

  • Allows a user to record any extra details about the Price Item being used and the pricing, which can be displayed while viewing the entry.
    • When used, this option is displayed in this manner:

Show quantity field

  • Allows users to adjust the quantity of the pricing, if hourly pricing is needed or anything similar. The far right field will multiply the price by the quantity to give a full total.

Category Options Field, Reference Options Field, Modifier Options Field

  • Allow the use of Form Reference Fields and Item Lists to create specific pricing rules in many situations for each price item.

Number Format

  • Determines how the number is displayed in the total, whether as currency, integers, or decimals.

View Only Amount Field

  • Roles selected here will not be able to make changes to the pricing that defaults for each Price Item. Prevents certain roles such as Drivers from making arbitrary changes to the pricing that has been entered for the situation of the tow.

Price Items

Price Items are where type of pricing is entered. These three options will make the pricing setup more custom as well as more complex:

Category Options Field

  • Can select an Item List with pre-generated values that will allow pricing to change based on what is selected in that Item List in the tow

Reference Options Field

  • Can select Item Lists or Form Reference fields to create specific pricing rules for accounts or pricing zones

Modifier Options Field

  • Can select Item Lists or Form Reference fields to further specify pricing when the situation matches the setup.

These three options are most often used in this manner:

  • Category Option - Vehicle Class
  • Reference Option - Account
  • Modifier Option - Tow Type

To make changes to the Price Items for an Amounts field

This is what the Price Items page will look like:

To create a new Price Item to be used, click the "New Price Item" button at the top of the list

To create Special Pricing for a specific value in your Reference Option, select the value to create pricing for, and click "Add Special Pricing". The default row will remain for the situations that are not specifically noted in the setup of the Price Item.

Once a Special Pricing option has been added, the Modifier option will become available for that

When a Price Item is set up with References and Modifiers, it will look something like this:

With this setup, if a user were to select these options:

Vehicle Class = Medium Duty

Customer = Omadi Shop

Tow Type = Flatbed Tow

The final price to come up when the Hook Fee price item is selected would be $300.00
